Health Insurance

Before you get pregnant is the best time to review your health insurance. However, once you are pregnant a conversation with your insurer is a MUST. All policies are different, so you will need to find out what you are and aren’t covered for, what out of pocket expenses you may be liable for, and any other “quirks” of your individual policy.

Some things your policy may contain:

  • Did you know that often Pregnancy is covered under “hospital cover”?
  • The standard wait time is usually 12months.
  • With most insurers you will need a family policy if you want to cover the baby once it is born – however an unborn child is covered under the mother’s health insurance
  • Cost! Family cover can be expensive. Make sure you research your options based on your current and future needs. There are many websites that can help with this including

Pre and Post Natal Depression

You and your partner may experience a wide range of emotions before, during and following the birth of your baby. If you are feeling overwhelmed at any stage it is best to speak to someone with the right experience.
